...on the topic of internet censorship...

So from the comment of the below post I started looking into internet censorship in Australia, I found this ad from "GetUp, Action for Australia"

They tried to get the ad on Qantas flights to Canberra but were banned for being too political as stated in the article, "No political interference in GetUp ban: Qantas" by The Australian.

More to come... thought I would at least put something up for this week :)

  1. Saw this ad a while back. Love it! Hits the nail on the head and it's a crack up!

  2. Comedy in advertising is the most effective form of communication, hands down. Can anyone remember a commercial that interested or provoked them that didn't use comedy?

  3. This comes really late, but I just happened to see this post - 2 weeks after it was posted! All I could think of were the Mastercard Priceless ads. Most of them were really funny -and very well adapted for different credit card economies and cultures. Some of them even played on simple emotions, sentiments --

World Youth Day getting to see the Pope ad, giving your kitchen the night off, toy for toddler.

But some were actually banned. Have you guys seen the blow job one?

Perverse, but nevertheless, very funny. This would never be allowed in a fairly conservative market like the Indian sub-continent. Hence, I've never seen this on tv. But it's so funny.
